We offer Kids & teens One to One Sessions where upon together the client and therapist work through the client’s needs using a range of therapeutic methods from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Mindfulness. In a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, the client can gain a better understanding of their emotions and how to manage them. The aim of therapy is to guide the child/teen to self-confidence in their own abilities to cope when life gets a bit bumpy, therefore developing a sense of resilience for life.
How does it work?
We view the initial One 2 One therapy session as an opportunity for you and your child/adolescents to talk about what is causing upset in the child’s/adolescent’s life, be it an emotional issue or an emotional response to a situation/event. Gaining rapport and checking for a sense of comfort and ease to work together from the child/adolescent’s perspective is important to us at Emotional Therapy Centre, as change of thoughts and behaviour can only come from a good state. Therefore, the client must be happy to work with the therapist and feel comfortable doing so. It is important to us that the client leaves with a strong sense of hope for the future, knowing that they can master their thoughts, feelings and behaviour in order to manifest a positive image of their future. The main aim of the following sessions will be to address the ‘issue’ and to guide the client to a place whereby they can manage their own thoughts and emotions going forward. In our experience a commitment to six sessions brings about a greater transformation for the client, truly instilling the resilience needed for tackling life’s inevitable down’s.
